Latrines help prevent the spread of water-borne diseases. After they are full, they can also be covered over with dirt and allowed to decompose. The planting of trees over old latrines provides a valuable way to recycle vital nutrients back into the soil

PISCES is in the process of building four small "round houses." These clay buildings will be covered with straw roofs to provide a space for our interns to rest and stay during their time learning at the site.

PISCES is a community development and sustainable agriculture network based in the Savanes Region of Togo, West Africa.

 

We partner with local organizations to plan and implement projects such as reforestation, satellite training centers, community gardens, and environmental camps so that people can grow healthy food while also protecting and improving the local environment.
